Adobe Photoshop 2021 (Version 22.2) Free License Key Download For Windows [Updated]

When you try to edit images in Photoshop, you see a preview of the final image in the Photoshop window. Although you don’t see how the file will look when printed out or displayed on the computer screen, you do get a good idea of how the picture will look on a finished product by looking at the preview window.

In this chapter, we explain how to create and edit images in the Photoshop environment. We start with the basics of the tools you use to create and edit images: The Rectangle Tool, the Pen Tool, the Brush, the Magic Wand, and the Lasso Tool. We then cover selections, layers, and raster and vector tools.

Photoshop gives you the opportunity to organize layers and groups in the Layers panel, which you find in the Layers panel’s Structure area. After you create and organize the layers and groups, you can apply various effects (effects and filters) to the layers and groups. In addition, we cover how to apply color variations to images and how to work with the node editing system in Photoshop Elements.

Note that although we do cover the basic operations, this book’s reviews are designed to explain the fundamentals and not to show you how to be a great Photoshop pro. If you want to learn the technical details of the interface, take a look at the Photoshop book from the Windows version, Adobe Photoshop CS6: The Complete Guide, by Andy Rathbone and David Luxton.

Finding the Rectangle Tool

The primary tool for creating, editing, and manipulating images in Photoshop is the Rectangle Tool. You use the Rectangle Tool to create shapes, move and resize objects, add objects to the image, and edit the edges of shapes and objects. You also use the Rectangle Tool to select and edit portions of an image, create a selection, and draw free-form shapes. You can select different shapes in a variety of ways, including with the Lasso tool and Magic Wand. You also can use the Pen tool to create shapes, adding to or changing the shape’s position. You can flip the image, rotate it, and move it to any position in the workspace. Figure 2-1 shows a close-up of the tools on the right side of the Tools panel.
