How to Open AutoCAD File

To open a CAD file in AutoCAD, you can do one of the following two things:

Using a File Location File In AutoCAD you have to have a drive letter or a UNC path. A UNC path is a network address that represents a drive on a network file server. For example, if your network is set up for a UNC path of \\\\Work, then your network path would be \\\\Work. Here is an example UNC path: \\IPAddress\C$\Program Files\AutoCAD 2013\AutoCAD_2013_enu.exe. A UNC path is easier to work with than a drive letter. However, you must have the full network address for the UNC path, including the name of the server. This means you have to configure your network correctly if you are going to work with UNC paths.

Using a UNC Path

Most of the time you will probably want to use the UNC path when you open a CAD file in AutoCAD. As a general rule, the UNC path you choose should be for the network drive where AutoCAD is installed. If you install AutoCAD on the same computer as you installed Windows, your drive should already be set up as the drive where AutoCAD is installed.

You can set the drive you want to use in the following ways:

Select Start > All Programs > AutoCAD > AutoCAD 2013 > Options > Advanced > General > Windows settings

Double-click the AutoCAD icon on the desktop

Click Computer on the left menu and click Properties

Click the Computer icon and select the drive that you want to use, as shown in the following image:

If you are using a UNC path, you must have permission to access the folder you choose to use. One way to make sure that you have permission is to open a command prompt window and type the following command:

C:\> net use * /user:

You can then browse the network drive to the folder containing the CAD file.

You may have to accept the license agreement to install a third-party program on your computer. If you do not accept the license agreement, you will get a message that says:

Unable to locate installation

Cross Platform

AutoCAD runs on most operating systems Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Windows Server, Windows Server, macOS, and OS X (via Mac OS X). AutoCAD is available for Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2019, macOS Sierra, OS X El Capitan, OS X Yosemite, OS X Mavericks, and OS X Snow Leopard. The AutoCAD Basic product is also available on the Microsoft Azure Marketplace, as of December 2019, and can be installed on a virtual machine.

As of 2019 AutoCAD’s Windows 10 versioning scheme is the version of Windows, followed by a number, such as 7.3. The latest version, in this case, 7.3.1, was released on 26 November 2019.

AutoCAD 2D-2012 and later have support for IPv6.

Unicode Character Set support

Many of AutoCAD’s scripts, such as the Drawing Manager, Coordinate System Manager, Dimensions, Modeling, Records, Database tools, and others are supported by Microsoft’s Visual Studio IDE. AutoCAD also has its own IDE, the AutoCAD R2011 SP1 IDE. Visual Studio support for AutoCAD was introduced with AutoCAD 2010.

AutoCAD has a feature called “Documen” that allows for custom documentation of AutoCAD drawings. This can be accessed with the Documen application from within AutoCAD.

Autodesk’s application suite features cloud-based deployment of software.

In AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT, users can send drawings and files to and retrieve drawings from the cloud. AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT users can create drawing templates, which can be used across other applications and shared to other users and organizations.

Any changes made to drawing templates are automatically updated throughout the AutoCAD family of products.

With version 2012 and later, cloud-based features were extended to include one-click Internet access to any of the available cloud-based services: Sketch, Design, and Construction. These cloud-based services are accessible from within the AutoCAD application.

As of 2019, version 16, AutoCAD LT is available as a cloud-based product.

In addition to the cloud-based features introduced in 2012, the AutoCAD applications can also be deployed on the Microsoft Azure Marketplace.

AutoCAD With License Key [April-2022]

You can’t activate the license online.
You have to activate it online.

I have activated the license but I don’t see my product on my PC.

If you have downloaded the activation key from the Autodesk Autocad download site.
If you have been provided with the activation key by a third party.

Find the “Autodesk Autocad” folder.
In the program files folder.
If you didn’t find Autodesk Autocad, check the Program Files(x86).

If you have no Autodesk Autocad folder, check the “C:\Program Files (x86)” directory.
You should have a “products” folder.
Look for Autodesk Autocad.

If you do not have Autodesk Autocad on your PC then this forum will be of no help to you.

nodejs and callbacks and calling functions

I’m working on a nodeJS based web app. I have a function that does this:
var foo = require(‘./foo.js’);

function workOnFoo (handler) {
return foo.doSomeThing(function(err, result) {
handler.callback(err, result);

I want to pass in a function for it to call when it’s done. However, the problem is, the function that the “foo.doSomeThing()” function is calling, doesn’t wait for the foo.doSomeThing() function to finish. The code runs up here:
app.get(‘/’, function (req, res) {
foo.doSomeThing(function(err, result) {

In my foo.js file I have:
var someTask = require(‘./someTask.js’);

var doSomeThing = function (handler) {
someTask.performTask(function (err, result) {
handler.callback(err, result);

However, it appears to execute the “handler.callback()” before the task is done, which messes

What’s New in the AutoCAD?

Refactoring tools:

Remove unnecessary code from your drawings. Redundant code and repetitive coding can make your drawings heavy and slow to edit. (video: 2:07 min.)

Multiple Document Interface:

Navigate around multiple drawings in a single view or scroll through multiple documents in a window. (video: 2:07 min.)

Stay connected with professionals:

Organize your designs with a whole new drawing capability. Plan your drawings in a collaborative drawing, organize all your designs in one drawing, and share them with the people you work with or depend on. (video: 1:47 min.)

Visualize data:

Share your drawings with clients and collaborators in a collaborative environment. Use AutoCAD to visualize and share your data with others in a web browser, without opening a separate drawing. (video: 2:21 min.)

Work with multiple drawing engines:

Create and edit Autodesk DWG, DWF, DWG, and DWF files, plus industry-standard formats such as Adobe Acrobat, Google Earth, or Microsoft Visio. (video: 2:22 min.)

Migrate from other CAD systems:

Import and export your files to other CAD systems. You can also import and export to and from other Autodesk applications, such as AutoCAD Architecture, Inventor, Plant 3D, and Revit. (video: 1:49 min.)

Intuitive 3D drawings:

Ortho-parallel and chamfered wall, column, and trim lines give you precise control over your 3D drawings. You can align sections and features, create thin wall sections, and trim edges with the click of a button.

Draw and scale accurately:

You can easily draw straight lines and arcs and edit complex geometries with great precision. Press Enter to easily enter a proportional or absolute coordinate, and use the Zoom tool to accurately place your drawings. (video: 2:09 min.)

Rotate and change angles:

Click the Rotate tool to quickly rotate any object and drag the handles to position your drawing or snap to the object’s center to rotate. Drag and drop tools are now enabled for easy, precise rotation, and the Arrange dialog box offers tools to rotate, flip, and move an object.

Improve your drawings:
